Join NMSL&RHS - Help Restore AT&SF 2926

Thank you for showing an interest in our group! We are a very eclectic group, so don't think you won't have anything to offer. Membership is open to the public.

Members participate and help with the project in basically two ways. They provide funding through donations and/or they actively participate "hands-on" by actually performing restoration labor on the locomotive and performing other administrative and public relations duties. All work is on a volunteer basis (no member of the Society draws wages) and all proceeds go directly into materials and services required to restore the locomotive. Members are allowed to participate as much or as little as they desire. In fact, some of our out-of-state members drop-in and participate "hands-on" only a few times per year.

Whether you become an "active" or "passive" member of the Society, you will be helping drive this project to fruition.

It is quite simple to become a member. The steps are as follows:

  1. Join the project. Membership dues are:

    • $30.00 per individual per year -or-
    • $50.00 per family per year -or-
    • $500.00 per individual for Life

Sign-up and pay on-line through PayPal:

You can also print, fill-out and mail-in our application with a personal check. You can find that form HERE (Our form is in PDF format; you will likely need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print it).

  2. If you would like to work "hands-on" the locomotive, you must attend a Safety class. Safety classes are scheduled irregularly as the need arises, so check our Events page or contact us for current information. You will need your own personal safety equipment: a YELLOW hard hat (available from the Society), a pair of OSHA-certified safety glasses and a pair of hard-toe safety work boots. Details about these items are covered during the safety briefing.

  3. You must provide your own health insurance to work on-site.

And last, but possibly the most important, show up with enthusiasm!
