Jonathan Vincent, an N scale model railroader from Louisville, Kentucky wrote NMS&LRHS and contributed these photos of a Bachmann N (1:160) scale locomotive he purchased at swap meet and then refurbished.
Jonathan added and/or replaced a lot of the details that were molded on such as railings, bell cord, cab sunshades, and the rolled up curtain on the back of the cab. Final electronic touches such as DCC (Digital Command Control), as well as directional lighting, including the red "reverse" light were added to the tender. Last, but not least, he repainted the loco and numbered it as AT&SF #2926.
That's a lot of detail, action & TLC packed into something that's probably only about 8" long. Nice job, Jonathan! We're flattered you numbered her after our old girl.
Subject: We love your webpage - A special thank you note & suggestion!
My name is Samantha and I am the Director of Camp Nazareth out in Minnesota. My girls have been using your webpage, http://nmslrhs.org/pages/thanks.php , and brought to my attention how helpful it was for their History project at camp!
As a thank you, one of the girls, Rebecca, suggested another resource:
Would you mind adding it to your page? I think it would be a great help to your visitors! I researched the article and it is very resourceful which is why I agreed to write to you when she asked me yesterday.
We would like to thank you again for the wonderful resources and hope that you add our newly discovered resource to your page! Let me know if you add it, as I would love to show her the suggestion up...it would be a great motivator for her peers to see too!Have a wonderful day!
Thanks Rebbeca & Samantha, consider it done!
We certainly hope Rebecca & Samantha will have a chance to join us for a ride on the Trans-Con someday; and truly be able to see, taste and hear the history they have been studying. That's our goal.
