"Banging on a 2900"
TW3 Update 05/23/2020
May 28, 2020
The New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society extends wishes for good health and safety to all of our NMSL&RHS friends during this adjustment to the new normal for dedicated Ferroequinologists.
The AT&SF 2926 has been resting comfortably in her engine house for the last couple of months, while her support team has been kept busy. Several important administrative tasks and permissions have been taken care of; and, our new restoration project tool car has arrived and is now securely ensconced at our restoration site.
We are proud to announce two new publications. The first of these is a 170-page book documenting the twenty-year restoration project of our steam locomotive / tender with nearly 200 color photographs and lots of anecdotes and stories. The book takes the AT&SF 2926 locomotive from its operating status on the rails, to a 44-year sojourn in a local park as a rusting monument, to a sleek restored engine just itching to pull passengers on the main line. Color copies of this restoration history book will be available soon (at present we are taking advance publication reservations) for $50 plus S/H.
We also have a 30-page systems notebook (completed and printed), with full color diagrams of all the operating systems on the locomotive, plus detailed explanations of how each of the systems functions. These are available for $30 plus S/H. To place an order for either one or both of these historic publications, please contact our storekeeper, Rick Marsden, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Stay safe, and do plan on a visit whenever you are in the Land of Enchantment. You can also follow us on our website, www.nmslrhs.org.
