ABOUT US:   Who we are and what we're trying to accomplish.

Thank You John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust !

The John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust generously awarded $25,000 to the NMSL&RHS to fund the Positive Train Control solution needed by the 2926 for future mainline operations.   The check was received on the 6th of March, 2019 and the 2926 crew could not be happier to receive this substantial support of their work.   Thanks John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust!

Can You Help Us Get the Tool Car Delivered This Spring ?

Photo by Ron Hawkins 6-29-73 Los Angeles, CA

The Tool Car Project is still on !   Our very own NMSX 3939 (formerly RPCX 3939), is in Bellevue, Ohio and will be ready to come to it's new home here in Albuquerque this spring.   We've raised enough money to purchase it, make it rail-worthy and get it shipped to New Mexico, but we still a need a last bit of funding in order to finish refurbishing the inside with creature-comforts, a generator and our high-volume air compressor to assist with cold-starts in time for AT&SF 2926 to hit the road.   We also plan to give it a nice, new exterior paint job.   We're so close to finishing the funding on this endeavor, so please re-consider a generous donation and help us finally get across the finish line !

Three More Limited Edition Tender Badges Are Available !

The Longbeards of 2926 made three more of these authentic replicas of AT&SF 2926's Tender Badges which can be found on the Engineer's (right) side of the tender and the rear of the tender.   They're made of 30 ounces of solid brass and are true-to-scale in every way except they are made without the mounting ears.   They measure approximately 7.5 inches wide by 2.75 inches tall.   They are individually stamped on the back with an unique serial number and the Longbeards only plan to make 100 of them - and they have already sold most of them.   So, get your's while you can (there are only three available at the time of this writing 02/11/2019). Hurry while the last few are made !   Cost is $110.00 USD each including domestic shipping.
