This week more jacketing panels were checked for proper fit. We received previous fitted panels back from the painter. Some will be stored until the boiler is steamed up.
More electrical decisions were made and conduit installed. Electronic load test equipment was fabricated and checked for proper function.
Also this week the tender was pulled from the engine house and the massive draw bars connected the locomotive to the tender.
Completed this week included the long awaited fire up, safety, testing plans and operation plans. These documents will be submitted to the various overseeing rail operations in our area. Many hours were spent completing all the necessary topics required.
The water treatment for the boiler arrived this week and was picked up at the shipping dock.
Don’t forget this Saturday is the General Meeting at 0730 at the site. Please come a bit early if you can to help get the chairs out.
We’ve had a letter writing campaign for Amtrak issues that came up 3/28. There will be addresses available for your convenience on Saturday. Others that are not here should write their city officials, state and local officials, congress/representatives, etc.
Weather is going to be cool (30’s) on Saturday morning as we have a cold front coming through Thursday and Friday and will have the leftover from that, so come prepared, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
