Hello all,
This will most likely be my last TW3 for this on again off again 2020 year. Our state mandates have played havoc with our restoration. Nevertheless, we have complied as necessary and persevered where we were able.
Much of the 2926 work prior to May, when the tool car arrived, was concentrated on electrical components and associated wiring, including various cab wiring and PTC requirements.
When the tool car arrived from Ohio much of our work was dedicated to removing donated items inside the car by the previous owners, Curt and Joyce Potter. The car has now been cleaned out and repainted inside with paint from Rust Bullet. As of this writing new side doors are being fabricated.
After protective panels were fabricated and installed in the cab the electricians began making final connections to the control boxes this week.
Our forging crew are still making various parts for the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad in Chama, NM. For the most part they have been working one to two days a week.
Our Holiday card/Membership Renewal progress has been doing well this year. Many thanks to those of you who have already sent in their renewals and many have donated far and above the basic membership donation. A special thanks to those folks as well. Please take note that we do not receive mail at the restoration site street address. Our mailing address is: NMSL&RHS, PO Box 27270, ABQ, NM 87125.
Lastly, due to the holidays landing on Fridays this year, we will not have any work sessions on the Saturdays after Christmas and New Year’s.
Thanks again to everyone for your continued support to our endeavors, and let’s continue . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
Rick Kirby
