Hello all,
This is our first TW3 since this past March. As most of you know, the tool car arrived on site 5/5/2020. Since then we have been back to work on a limited basis. We have been working to remove the included donated items from the car.
The first project for the car will be to replace the four sliding doors. Currently they are very hard to open due to the wood inside the metal has swollen and the outside metal covering has rusted in places and separated from the wood. All the door hardware will need to be repaired or replaced. That being said I’m not sure our GoFundMe campaign has reached its goal. It appears we’re a bit short in that area for the tool car.
Don Mac. has already finished the first draft of the layout for the inside of the car.
At this time we are not having visitors on site and the number of volunteers each day is limited.
We recently received a quote to restore the remaining track from our site to the main line, which may be as much as $20,000. With the store being closed we aren’t bringing in the amount of money we have in the past. That being said, if you have any Benjamins laying around collecting dust, we could surely use them.
Thanks so much for hanging with us for the past five months during this Covid shutdown. Hopefully we can resume normal operations in the near future; and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
