The siding reconstruction continues and we hope this work will be completed by the end of this week.
On Saturday one more superheater bundle was finished and stored in the container.
Finish-grinding on backhead overlay welds was completed. We will re-ultra sound those areas next week.
On top of the boiler more flexible staybolt sleeves were ground down and prepared for new sleeves.
At the fabrication table flat steel plates were being laid out and cut with an oxy-acetylene torch. These various plates were also drilled for mounting bolts. The components will later be welded together to form the housing for the device to rotate the large cylinder hone.
Several valve gear wrist pins have been refurbished off site and were delivered to the site.
If you haven’t heard, the Board voted to change our Membership for Individual from $29.26 to $30, and the Family Membership from $48.40 to $50. The Lifetime Membership is the same at $500. It just makes accounting easier.
Hopefully if the track is done, we can get the engine back to it’s normal place for easier access and more work.
Hope to see you this Saturday at 7:30, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
