I don’t have a lot to report on this week since the turret valve repair is holding up several projects.
We did locate the certified material for the bonnet repair which cost nearly $800, so send in your “Benjamin’s” (Franklin) if you can. The turret itself is still at the machine shop and awaiting the delivery of the bonnet material. Turret repairs are completed.
The electricians are making progress on the array of conduits in and under the cab area. All of the nighttime maintenance lights have been installed where anticipated work may need to be done during night operations.
Work began on routing a pathway for the superheater temperature equipment.
From Dr. Mike, a word about a grant we received last week:
The guys and gals at the 2926 were pleased to receive nice letters from Joe Sloan (BNSF Public Affairs) and Deanna Dugas (BNSF Railway Foundation) and a check from the BNSF Railway Foundation in the amount of $2,500.00 for the Tool Car Fund. This support is much appreciated. Our friends at BNSF have come through again and again for the AT&SF 2926 gang. THANKS!
Our tool car is still in Ohio getting its trucks repaired and inspected.
Hope to see everyone that can come to the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
