We performed an air test Wednesday and found a few more minor leakers, then tagged each one to be addressed this past Saturday. New brass adapters will need to be fabricated for the new sight glasses.
The electricians have pretty much decided as to where the conduits need to be installed. New conduit and fittings are on site.
The Board of Director’s voted to install a person to head up the electrical department. We chose Bill R. to be in charge and reporting back to me.
With the help of John C. the forward most dynamo was tested with air pressure from our big screw compressor. It checked out okay so it is ready to reinstall. The aft dynamo, which has a lubricant leak, will be checked out this coming Saturday.
The forge masters have been pouring new brass bell rope guides. They look sharp after final machining and polishing.
We’ve had two break-ins in about 10 days. The first our heavy chain on the east gate was cut and the trailer especially designed to haul the speeder was stolen. It only took them about two minutes to chain up the trailer, which had a large tongue lock, to the truck bumper and out it went. No way could our security people get there in that amount of time to catch them.
The other one, a person climbed over the same gate and set off the alarms. When security showed up the uninvited guest hid in the porta-potty until the guard left.
This past Saturday the gate was fortified with heavy plate steel and a new locking mechanism was installed.
There will be a New Member orientation on March 16th. If anyone missed the safety refresher classes you should try to make this one. It’s in the reefer office beginning at 0900 sharp.
Don’t forget the General Membership Meeting this coming Saturday. It starts at 0830 sharp!
Weather is fairly nice right now, so hope to see those of you that can make it at the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
