April 3, 2017
As a result of our recent water pressure of the boiler we have been addressing the minor leaks which became evident.
Workers continue working on various control rods and brackets, painting mechanical parts and electrical components and testing the various air brake components.
Support brackets were being fabricated for the MU equipment as it makes it’s way to the rear of the tender.
Jacketing metal work is progressing. This week workers were fitting the jacketing around the crosshead compressors.
Other volunteers were installing the appliance air piping into the cab.
Our workday was shortened by a rainstorm which came in as predicted at 11 AM on Saturday. The engine was quickly rolled back into it’s engine home and we all then left for the day.
Again, if you have not paid your membership, please do so as time is running out for you to renew and not be left off the email lists, Newsletter, etc.
Possibly cool tomorrow and then more possibly rain again on Saturday. We shall see how close the weatherman is around here. Hope to see you all at the site this week, and as usual . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
