Superheater pipe fabrication continues as usual. The projected completion of the superheater work is mid to late June.
Fireman’s side timing rods were installed this week including the union link, radius bar lifting link and combo lever. A new pin for the combo lever was fabricated.
More bolts were welded to the firebox new side sheet and on top. These bolts will later secure the outer steel lagging.
Also on the firebox at various locations broken stud bolts were being removed and their remaining threads re-tapped.
Existing cab window frames were removed from storage and organized to formulate a replacement procedure. New wood will be cut to fabricate the new frames.
Our torque wrench arrived Friday from being calibrated. This enabled workers to resume tightening the flexible staybolt plugs.
Painting resumed on the lubricators distribution boxes.
Various castle nuts were installed on the crosshead attachment pedestal bolts and cotter pinned.
It might be a bit cool in the mornings this coming week, but otherwise weather should be okay if we don’t get wind. Hope to see everyone at the site this week and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
