July 5, 2016
Since my last report the work sessions have been mostly repetitious. Much of the work has been the same projects as the prior weeks.
26L brake system is still being designed and installed with the various components.
Driver brake shoe work continues and new parts are being fabricated by our machinists.
The sand dome received new engine numbers while more pipes were cleaned and prepped for paint.
The fuel line was being rerouted as the original showed signs of rub wear.
Work on the cab windows is progressing. Nylon slides were installed to help the windows move more freely.
Air testing will resume this week and Welches Boiler Co. will be on site to finish re-rolling the smoke box tubes and flues.
The next New Member class will be July 23rd at 9:00 AM in the office for those that are interested. Please make sure you are paid in full for your membership and bring $15 for a yellow hard hat if you don’t already have one.
Our Annual General Meeting will be this Saturday at 7:30 AM, so plan to come early to help set out chairs.
It’s going to be hot at the site this week, so everyone needs to keep hydrated and get in where it’s cool when necessary. Hope to see everyone at the site this week, and as usual . . .
Keep on steamin’,
