Crosshead tramming work continued this week. Additional alignment devices were fabricated and installed. As of this writing additional work is needed to properly set the crosshead guide.
Alterations were being done on the lube line flush device. A more powerful drive motor was installed along with better hydraulic hose connections.
Parts were being cut and machined for items to be used during the future hydro test.
Trailing truck brake linkages were being inspected which revealed various parts in need of new sleeves for the pins.
All the full replacement flexible staybolt sleeves have been tack-welded in place. Measurements were taken for each new staybolt.
Work began rethreading the interior firebox staybolt holes so they will all be the same diameter.
More cleaning and painting of various parts and boiler structures were being done.
Ongoing work continues as progress is being made on the permanent merchandise store.
As with past weeks one more superheater bundle was completed and racked for storage. As a reminder, on our newly updated website, we still have less than half of the superheater bundles to sell. If you feel led to help us finish that up please go online and sponsor a bundle or more. Thanks to those that have already done so.
Hope to see you at the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
