It has been awhile since I’ve provided a TW3 report. Since this last report Madame Secretary and I took a couple weeks which should have been some R & R, but was intermingled with several calamities.
Upon our return the open house preparations began along with the open house itself and work sessions devoted to clean-up and returning the site to a restoration site.
Thanks to our crew for continued work while we were away.
Lately work is being done to complete the cab windows. Good progress has been made with the more complex windows.
Small bore piping is ongoing for various air and steam control piping for several devices.
Turret hydro is being done as several valve and seat leaks have been found with some repairs completed.
The machine shop had to fabricate a few pieces to facilitate the valve lapping.
Our air brake crew continues the fine tuning of the brake stand’s operational parameters and testing the various components.
For those of you who are interested in working on the engine and becoming a member, our Safety Officer will be presenting a new member orientation and safety class Saturday, October 14th. It will begin at 9:00 AM sharp in the reefer office.
For all of you who regularly read our reports, visit the website, photos and Facebook, please consider donating to the GoFundMe program for a much needed tool car. You can also donate directly to us via a check. Our mailing address is PO Box 27270, Albuquerque, NM 87125-7270. For more information visit our website or Facebook.
