Novenber 8, 2016
Work progressed in all areas that were on-going last week.
The big news of the week is that a water truck showed up with 4000 gallons of water which was immediately pumped into the boiler. About an hour and a half later it returned with another 4000 gallons of water. The boiler was filled and the results of the non-pressurized water test were satisfactory and encouraging. We will be ready for a hydro test shortly.
An LP forced air heater has been acquired to heat the water to at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit for the test and help dry out the boiler afterwards.
More cab work is on-going as small bore piping is being designed and various valves installed.
The fireman’s side steam chest sheet metal jacketing is underway and other pieces are being located for fabrication.
The testing of the superheater bundles is on-going as well.
That’s it for the week. Hope to see everyone at the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
