We’re baking here in ABQ just like the rest of the southwest. At least it’s not as hot as the deep southwest. I measured the concrete temperature on site with a laser T-stat which read 133°. A little cooler this coming week and possibly some rain.
Projects this week were much like the last.
Continuing efforts include removing wasted staybolt plugs, thread chasing reusable plugs and their sleeves.
Cleaning and painting frame parts and pipes is progressing at a fast pace.
One new project began this week as volunteers started fabricating a replacement slack adjuster which was stolen last year. The 2 1/2″ threaded adjusting rod is being ordered from a manufacturer.
One of the duplex pumps which was donated is being disassembled and inspected. Other than a few springs it appears to be in good condition.
I expect the cab painting will resume this week. All the trim areas have been completed.
Don’t forget to vote if you haven’t already. There are two positions open and two running so I wonder who will win???? The ballot can be downloaded at the website or you can pick one up at the site. The election results will be announced at the General Meeting on Saturday, July 13th at 8 am.
Hope to see you at the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
