Last week was the second six day work-week for the volunteers and welding crew.
Over 80 hours were expended welding in some 120 flexible stay-bolt sleeves. At this point we are over half way finished with this part of the boiler project. We expect to be finished with this part in another 10 days of work. After that we will have another 35 stays that will be completely replaced, and work will start on the prep for that immediately.
The replacement radial buffer chafing plate is essentially finished and the fitting and install will start right now.
Trailing truck brake shoes are on order, with the driver shoes to be ordered next week.
More lubricator parts were cleaned and readied for testing, and design/build of the tramming gauge for the crossheads/shoes/pistons is in process. We expect to get the crossheads and shoes back from Grand Canyon RR this month. When that happens, the final rods can be installed and then the Walsheart linkages will be connected up.
Rain struck, for a change, on Saturday and forced a close right after lunch.
