Wednesday’s work session was shortened due to a late winter cold front accompanied with wind and light snow showers.
This week’s projects saw the completion of cupping the flexi-bolt copper seals.
The reworked car mover bogie tie rod was painted and reinstalled.
More finish work was performed on the cab wood brushing on more wood sealer.
Cylinder exhaust pipe fabrication is progressing towards the engineer’s side.
TIG welding repairs on the firebox boiler sheet has begun. Small notches are being filled then ground down smooth.
Wasted flexi bolt sleeves are still being ground away preparing them for new sleeves.
Fabrication of sheet metal insulation shield work continued this week. Intricate cuts and bends are being performed.
Restoration of the two number boards has begun. Metal cleaning and wood preparation is on the list of work to be done.
Also more pipe support brackets were installed on the fireman’s side.
Thanks to all of you for continuing work while Bob D. and I were out of town.
Hope to see you all on site this week and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
