July 7, 2015
We had an abbreviated work week due to the 4th of July holiday. Officially the site was closed for work Saturday, however a few folks wanted to work as usual.
Maintenance foot rails were removed from storage, cleaned and painted.
Lower firebox insulation retaining rails were also painted. The outer ends of the 29 new flexible staybolt telltale holes were seal-welded, allowed to cool then installed.
More work was done on the trailing truck brake arms which completed the restoration of the fireman’s side brake system.
The following work was performed on Saturday to work and their work is submitted by Dr. Mike, our President:
A small crew found the inside and outside main rod guards, right and left foot rails and they painted the short ladders that extend up to the lubricator pumps. We also found the right bolts and mounted the right side hardware.
This coming Saturday is our official Annual Society General Meeting. It will begin at 7:30 AM. Anyone who can arrive early to set up chairs are encouraged to do so.
The Annual Board Meeting will follow the General Meeting and will be electing officers for the year. This is a short BoD meeting this month.
See you on the site this week, and as always . . .
