Much of the same work is still on-going as of last week. More boiler leaks were repaired, tested and others located.
Original jacket materials are being inspected to see which ones can be repaired and those that must be replaced.
Work has begun on the throttle valve system as tools are being fabricated to fit the individual valves to their respective parts.
We had a professional from Wasatch on site this weekend. He was there to check out our work thus far and point out some areas in need of attention that we had not yet addressed. We still have some areas in the firebox which needs work prior to the hydro.
Thanks to Bob D. and Dave V. and our skilled craftsmen to continue work as I have been on site sporadically, allowing my knee to heal from surgery.
The second dynamo has been painted and installed next to the original.
Don’t forget this Saturday is the New Member Orientation promptly at 9:00 AM in the Reefer Office.
Also, with regards to the Christmas Train Lights, please be sure you bring or send any lights you do not use or won’t be using any longer and put them in the Reefer east end cap (not on the desks). We’ll be having a brief planning meeting on the day of our General Meeting of 11/12/16 right as that meeting closes. Please plan to attend both meetings if you can help us out with the Christmas Eve Lighting. Our Visitor’s Bureau has us on their tour of lights from 6 – 10 PM.
Hope to see everyone at the site, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
