With the results of our preliminary hydro test last week we began repairing the minor leaks located around staybolts caps, washout plugs and a few stud bolts.
Our air brake crew continues putting the system through it’s paces isolating various components to test others. The automatic train brake valve is operating normally after finding some ports not plugged off as required. Also several unions on the 1 1/4″ air line were not fully tightened.
Smaller air brake lines were being removed and inspected for any external wear points and their overall integrity.
Other workers were welding pipe supports on the tender for the port side air brake lines and the MU conduit.
The electrical crew began assembling the main power box. Most all of the special wire we need has been ordered and is on its way here.
We hate to keep harping on this, but if you know you haven’t paid your membership renewals to date, please do so ASAP. Gail hasn’t really had time to send each person a renewal notice email yet.
Weather is warming up at the site this week, nice days are ahead it appears, so we hope to see everyone at the site this week, and as always . . .
Keep on Steamin’,
